It is our great privilege to invite fungal researchers from all around the world to 12th International Fungal Biology Conference (IFBC, formerly known as The International Fungal Spore Conference until 1996) in Songdo of Incheon metropolitan city, South Korea from August 22 to August 25, 2017. This conference has been held every 3-4 years; the last was held in Karlsruhe, Germany in 2013 and this will be the first IFBC in an Asian country.
With a strong emphasis on the most novel research on different aspects of fungal cell biology, this conference will provide a great environment for a close scientific and social interaction among the participants with multiple opportunities for young scientists to present their work in Concurrent Sessions as well as in Poster presentations.
Songdo is an international city belonging to Incheon metropolitan city, located in the west coast of South Korea. It is very close to Incheon International Airport (ICN), Seoul, the capital of South Korea, and many other interesting historical and modern places. An excursion planned during the meeting will give you the opportunity to appreciate and enjoy these famous places.
Our local committee with help from the international steering committee is organizing this meeting with the generous support from The Microbiological Society of Korea (MSK), Woosuk Univeristy, as well as Korea and Incheon Tourism Organizations. We are assembling a very interesting program with speakers from all over the world that should complement the programs of other established meetings, such as the Asilomar Fungal Genetics, the European Fungal Genetics and the Gordon Conference.
We look forward to seeing you all at Incheon, South Korea!
From the local organizers of the Conference.
